Haji Sir Abdullah Haroon was a politically active, influential, and affluent business magnate. Written by his daughter, this book presents a balanced account of his personal and political life. It also includes some important documents that throw light on a historic period--the struggle for independence. Doulat Haroon Hidayatullah was born in 1915. She served as Joint Secretary of the Sindh Muslim League and the Istambul Khawateen, Cultural and social organization founded by her mother, Lady Nusrat Haroon. She was a founder member and President of the All Pakistan Women’s Association (APWA), an organization that collects funds and supports a number of welfare projects. She was also actively connected with social welfare, educational, religious and cultural organizations in Karachi.
