Satantango

In the darkening embers of a communist utopia, life in a desolate Hungarian village has come to a virtual standstill; but when the charismatic Irimias- long-thought dead-returns home, people begin to fall under his spell. What follows is drunken, desperate and brutal as Irimas first exploits the villagers, and then leads them towards their deaths.
