Vatican 100 Masterpieces

The Vatican Museums contain some of the greatest Western art in the world. Thousands of works of art have been collected by successive popes since the early fifteenth century, and all are housed in a complex of buildings in the papal palace and elsewhere in the Vatican. With several museums, the Library exhibition rooms, and various suites of Renaissance painting of which the most important are Michelangelos Sistine Chapel and the Stanze, decorated by Raphael and others the visitor is admitted to some of the most beautiful rooms in existence. Enrico Bruschini has contributed to Vatican 100 Masterpieces as an author.Named art historian of the American embassy in Rome and official Guide of Rome, Enrico Bruschini is an Italian historian, art expert, professor, author, and passionate storyteller. Until his retirement from the embassy in 1998, he served as its fine art curator. He is the author, most recently, of “The Vatican: Masterpieces”, the official guidebook of the Vatican. He lives in Rome.
