The Damnation of Theron Ware is a novel written by American author Harold Frederic. Considered widely to be a classic of American literature and scholars, it has not been as widely read or known by readers as others books of its caliber. This 1869 work is largely about the life of a Methodist pastor, Theron Ware, who has recently moved to a small town in the Adirondack Mountains and becomes attracted to a Catholic girl, Celia. The main theme for the reader is to decide if by the end of the work if Theron is illuminated and has become a better person or has become degenerated.
